Glad to be eating in miss the buffet great food and people enjoy the endless time with them wish they was next door.

What a hidden GEM! The open buffet style setup with a full selection of the most delicious southern style comfort food here is absolutely fantastic! I was referred to this place by a friend and was more than stuffed when I left. The staff is so friendly and it’s all you can eat for like $10. If your local or just in town put this place on your radar!

McCalls BBQ & Seafood is an excellent buffet restaurant. The food is always fresh and hot. It’s home cooking like Mama’s without having to do the cooking. They have an extensive buffet. It’s family oriented,casual,and clean. The staff is friendly and eager to please. Try it for yourself!!!

Large variety of home style food and desserts. Friendly staff. Great salad bar. Yummy!

Orders should be double checked better before sending out the takeout orders. It will prevent customers from having to drive all the way back for missing items. Food was just ok.

Visited for the first time after hearing some friends mention how great it was. Even though the parking lot was full, we were seated immediately. We all got buffet and it was delicious. Everything I tried was good. The staff were all friendly and courteous as well. Will definitely go back the next time I'm in Goldsboro.

Food was very tasty with an array of hoices on the buffet. Just love yhe barbecue and fresh banana pudding Yum! They have excellent precautions set up for Covid.

Chickenwas tough and barbeque was stringy tasted warm up from freezer. Complained to manager re ceived abrasive tone and no refund. They just lost my business.

Palace of BBQ and fantastic service. Our party all tried the buffet and found everything fresh and delicious, even near the end of the night. Meats, vegetables, sides, desserts, outrageous bread and hush puppies. The sauce and pulled pork and chicken were worth it. Came on a recommendation from friends in WNC, will certainly visit again!

Great Southern Food!!! The fried chicken, string beans and cobbler was great!!! Seafood was good, I was told. However, I do not eat the shell fish. I will go back again.

Food was good, fresh and hot. The service was great! Especially...on a Sunday ...after church!!! Would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Good ole home cooked food! YUM!!!!

Sells a lot of pork products and I do not like pork also they do not have any labels on the food that they have some stuff you got to ask everybody what it is the desert was pretty good also kind of pricey for takeout spent $8 for a small salad and small vanilla pudding

Southern food where ? The collard greens were pureed. The fried chicken was fried too hard, the potato salad taste like mashed potatoes. The fried chicken livers were fried too hard. The iced tea was the best thing on the menu.

I’m just not sure why they even have a drive thru!! Every car has to pull up and wait for their order. I waited 22 minutes for a BBQ sandwich with no slaw. That’s it! No fries...nothing. Them they bring out my sandwich.....guess what’s on it??? Yep, slaw

Very good,service good, nice atmosphere, ribs & fish not top notch, but everything else was excellent! Their vinegar BBQ was great. Will certainly return & recommend it to others.

I got two carry out trays from the buffet. One plate had a chicken thigh and a leg, lima beans, mashed potatoes and 2 pieces of pizza. The other had mashed potatoes, gravy, a few shrimp and 2 pieces of pizza. This came up to $31.15. There was not a lot of food in the trays. They are section trays. The pizza sounds like it would weight a lot, but they were tiny, dried out slices. 90% of the food went in the trash. The turkey was very salty. Pizza and chicken were very dried out. The shrimp was the only thing I ate. My daughters only ate the mashed potatoes. Way too expensive for poor quality.

Really great, friendly service and I loved the seafood, but my son didn’t care for the food, and it was rather expensive for the buffet.

We ordered the deluxe package for 30 for our Christmas gathering Dec 22 2019. The staff was most helpful and everyone said the Bbq was the best they had in long time. It was seasoned perfectly. This place was really busy for lunch on a Thursday. I can see why. The buffet was a good price and the food was good. There was a good specialized selection too, no random food options like you'll get at other buffets. They had a large desert selection as well. The place had a good atmosphere as well. I'd recommend giving this place a try.

Not all of that I would prefer Grandsons. It was OK. and that's it. The best thing was the banana pudding. But I wouldn't want to go back again

If you like a good buffet this is the place to be good home cooking. Very spacious & great price

I went there yesterday (1/1/2020). I was really disappointed!!! We got there at 6 PM and they had already run out of BBQ. Really??? Had I known this before I started fixing my plate, I would have left. The chicken wings and the hush puppies were good. The lasagna was dry but was ok. The banana pudding was loose but had good flavor. But from the looks of the banana pudding, you probably would not have tried it. I only tried it because my friend said to. I do not plan to return. Nothing like the McCall's that was in Clayton. One of the smallest buffets ever. The dessert space could have been better utilized. I gave 2 stars because the waitress was nice and attentive.

Traveling through this is a must stop! Great selection and very attentive staff and service. Bring a big appetite, you'll need it!

Good NC barbecue. One of the best food bars for this type of restaurant. Kept clean and neat during the times I've visited there. There is not a lot of un accompanied children at the food bar like I have seen at the Golden Corral Rest. on Calital Blvd. and a lot of other restaurants that have food bars.

It was okay. Buffett is still not opened up. Did not care too much for the flounder today. The Seafood Breaded mix that they used was not that great. The hushpuppied and sides items were awesome though. Staff was friendly as always, and the wait time for the food wasn't long at all. I would still choose this place over Wilbers BBQ any day!

McCalls gives Casey's in Wilmington a run for it's money. Freshly fried, stewed, and steamed meats & vegetables. Sweet potato biscuits, superb hush puppies, & homemade cornbread. Excellent homemade desserts. Best Southern brewed ice tea in NC. NC visitors should have lunch at McCalls for a real Tar Heel experience.

Incredible home cooked food with a very friendly and attentive staff. Very affordable. Best BBQ I ever had. Will be back when I visit North Carolina again.

Man oh man.. don't even know where to start or what to say other than it was a great meal and very well cooked BBQ. The sides were delicious and the meat was cooked to perfection and super juicy. Definitely was worth the drive. Will be coming back

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! This is the best BBQ in NC in my opinion and to think you can eat all of it you want too! Oh my word! The buffet here is insanely delicious! Don't get list in the BBQ either because the fried chicken tastes Like God made it! I highly urge you to try McCalls. The place is off the chain good eats!

HORRIBLE, horrible reopening. I don't know who was more confused; the staff or the customers. Your dining room was shut down 6-8 weeks and you couldn't come up with a plan to begin again? I went to the back take out and you weren't letting anyone inside. Customers standing around, unsure what to do. I went to the front for sit down service and couldn't get waited on even with several waitresses standing at the front doing nothing. I can't believe how badly this was managed.

This was my first time eating here and I was shocked at how good it was. The bbq chicken was really tasty but the star of the show was the fried oysters, shrimp and clams. The oysters were the best I've ever eaten and I plan on eating oysters only if I ever get back this way. The cole slaw was great and so was the sweetened ice tea.

This place was an amazing find on our way to our annual beach destination. I can’t say enough about how great the food was and the service was impeccable. A true mark of a place is if the locals go there and that is very much the case. If you are traveling, make this a stop on your way for a quick bite to eat. You will not be disappointed.

Quite crowded for a Saturday @ 2 PM. No seafood on buffet. Evidently it's only for the dinner crowd.Nevertheless, the food was excellent if you like country style cooking. And was abundant. The food was always being brought out of the kitchen piping hot, unless it was a cold dish. They definitely know what they are doing! 😋

I'm a rather large trucker, and I love food. I have probably ate at over 1000 restaurants in the past 10 years, all over the USA, and I can say with confidence that this is my favorite restaurant in NC, and one of my favorite in all of the south. I'm not done yet - this is the friendliest restaurant I've EVER been to. I don't say that lightly. Al McCall, presumably the owner, came outside to the porch where I was eating and thanked me for my business. The first time I ate here, I wondered why it was so busy. I wondered why it had thousands of reviews. I wondered why there is a literal fleet of delivery vans beside the building... But now that I've been here a couple times, I know why. It's because they are the model for what to do right in a business, and every other restaurant in the USA could learn from them. Mr. McCall - please never change a thing, and you have a customer for life.

Food is always good and service always excellent. It doesn't matter how busy those girls at the take out are, you still get a smiling face and prompt service. They must be on the ball in the back too because I have never waited more than a few minutes before my food was out and correct. Recommend esp if you need to feed a group.

Still my favorite place to eat in Goldsboro.. Food is always superb and the staff is out of this world phenomenal

I know times are tough, but I'm pretty sure when you kill someone with your buffet times will be even tougher. If I hadn't drove over an hour to eat here and meet my family, I'd have left right away. I could smell your carpets through my mask while I was still in the foyer. The food was hard to look at let alone eat. Please do better.
